Balaba is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or to take part in a variety of activities.
If you fancy some ‘down time’ why not relax in one of the hammocks with a good book from the selection of books in the Balaba collection. Alternatively you could just take a nap!
Or if you want a taste of Gambian life, you could try your hand at washing, cooking or other activities ‘Gambian style’. Visit the local market with Saffie to buy fish and other ingredients, and then return to cook lunch on the open fire.
Mealtimes are often followed by sitting round the camp fire, with drumming and dancing – even if you feel you are not a ‘natural’ dancer you could soon find yourself drawn in!
Drumming lessons can be arranged – these can be tailored for complete beginners or for more experienced players.
