Balaba Nature Camp is situated in the savannah woodland, so it’s secluded and quiet, although you’ll have plenty of opportunity to meet local people as they pass by on their way to the nearby villages.
Meals are cooked in the local style by Saffie, and served in the open. Mealtimes are an ideal time to meet other guests and also the family – the lamplight creates a lovely atmosphere. Traditional Gambian food usually consists of fresh-caught local fish or chicken, served with vegetables, sauce and rice. Vegetarian options are available.
